Khunjerab Pass.jpg

In 1986 Karakoram Highway opened linking the Northern areas of Pakistan to the rest of the country and following part of the ancient silk roads, the road connects Pakistan to China via the Khunjerab Pass at an altitude of 5000 m.

The trip from the Himalayan foot hills to Khunjerab pass has an amazing landscape and is an incredible road trip. You go from rolling lush hills in the foot hills of the Himalayas to the all rock high peaks in the Karakoram. The incredible journey passes alpine lakes, high mountains and ends at the Chinese border the highest border crossing in the world at 4,693 m (15,397 ft).
