Home of worlds ancient civilizations. The history of the region within Pakistan goes back to 50,000 BC. The earliest agriculture settlement was discovered in Mehrgarh, dating back to 7000 B.C a 1000 years before Mesopotamia.  The Indus Valley Civilization with the cities of Harappa and Mohnjo-daro at its center lasted from 2600 to 1900 BC. Gandhara civilization became the spiritual center of Buddhism from 200 BC to 800 AD; followed by the Mughals, the Sikh Empire and the British. 

The Indus civilization along with the ancient Egyptian and Mesopotamian civilization are the earliest three civilizations of the old world from which the Indus was the most widespread. The civilization comprised of dozens of well-planned cities and towns with baths, urban drainage and water supply systems and many large nonresidential building grouped together indicating government systems.

These periods have left their mark. The ruins of the ancient cities of Harrapa and Mohenjo-daro, the earliest Buddhist temples, monuments of Mughal architecture and some of the holiest sites in Sikhism and so much more…. for you to see.
